Are you looking for a front door business intercom system or do you want to be able to intercom through your phone system?  Do you have a warehouse and need to have pickers be able to intercom back to the shipping or office areas?  Assess your business intercom needs before contacting vendors for quotes.  If you do not have a regular public area for our business a business intercom system is a great way to control access to the private areas of your business.

There are a number of communications companies that offer home and business intercom equipment and installation from a variety of manufacturers including NuTone, Aiphone, Siedle, and M&S.  NuTone offers the IM-5000 which you can have up to 20 remote stations attached to it.  There are a number of advanced intercom features as well.  The IM-5000 has an “All Call” feature that lets you call all of the remotes stations from any single station on the system.  If you only want to intercom a single station, all you have to do is to enter its station number on the numeric keypad.  This keeps you from disturbing the entire office.  Answering either an “All Call” or selective call is a breeze.  All you have to do is answer verbally and the intercom picks it up without the need to press a button to communicate like on the old wired in versions.  Finally, volume is controlled with an up and down electronic push button system.

Aiphone is another communications company offering business intercom and access systems nationwide.  They offer simple intercom systems, intercom systems with music capability, music distribution systems and office access and door access systems.  You can get a simple voice access intercom system starting at under two hundred dollars ($148) and they have just about everything in between including color video and voice intercom systems starting at just under four hundred dollars ($386) and topping out at their deluxe Black and White Video/Access System at a little over two thousand dollars ($2503).  You can have up to three video door stations and eight inside audio or video stations.  From each station you can make an “all call” or you can make selective calls to any station in the system.  You can also unlock the doors from any station.  The system has fantastic audio and video clarity in both day and night.  The system also has a hands free answering feature by voice only.
